Earth stakes - the most important and often underestimated accessories

Earth stakes are the most important accessories in the electric fence and must always be sufficiently and appropriately dimensioned for the energiser. PATURA earth stakes are made of galvanised angle iron and are supplied including a stainless steel screw for connecting the earth cable. How many earth stakes are required for which PATURA energiser can be found in the tables for the energiser.

If the earth system of an energiser is inadequate, current can be measured between the earth stake and the surrounding soil or an electric shock can be felt when touching the earth system. The earth system of an energiser should be checked at the time of installation and with permanently installed energisers at least once a year (preferably during dry soil conditions). The procedure for checking the earthing can be found under the item "Practical tip".
